Small steps, deep roots: building a daily rhythm in God’s Word

Most people do not stop reading the Bible because they decide to. They stop because life gets full, a few days are missed and the plan quietly slips away. The answer is not more willpower. It is a rhythm that is small enough to keep.

Pick a time you already keep, such as the kettle boiling in the morning or the bus ride to work, and attach your reading to it. Keep the passage short. Read it slowly. Ask what it shows you about God before you ask what it asks of you.

When you miss a day, do not try to catch up. Simply read today’s passage. The goal of the plan is not a completed chart; it is a life that is slowly, steadily being shaped by Scripture.

Roots grow in the dark and out of sight. Ten quiet minutes a day, repeated over years, will hold you through seasons you cannot yet imagine.
